Description
The production of Argan oil is controlled by women’s cooperatives in Morocco; it is traditionally made by local Berber women, taking 12 hours and 30kg of nuts to produce just one litre of Argan oil. The oil comes from the nuts of the Argan tree, which are cracked by hand, the seed extracted and ground into paste oil. Argan Oil has traditionally been used as a beauty tool for many years.
Fair-trade
Through fair-trade, Argan oil provides the Berber women with an independent and stable source of income, providing access to better healthcare and education for both themselves and their families.
